Outdoor Activities and Destinations in Arlington

With the epic freeze and temperatures that have kept us indoors through the winter, everyone’s gunning to get back out and take advantage of warmer weather. As spring approaches, it’s time to start planning ideas to get your family back in the sun and in nature. To get you started, take a look at some of the best warm outdoor activities and destinations for family fun in Arlington.

Caelum Moor

Amidst the Arlington Entertainment District you’ll find the freestanding granite sculptures that make up Caelum Moor, comprised of more than 540 tons of granite. The design includes individual monuments ranging in height from eight to thirty feet and bearing their own Celtic names, as well as a park, along Johnson Creek. While having no celestial connection as does Stonehenge in England, the sculptures are fascinating.

Cody Rocamontes Memorial Skatepark

Opened in March of 2013, Cody Rocamontes Memorial Skatepark includes 5400 square feet within Randol Mill Park dedicated to challenges and obstacles for skating and BMX biking. The first phase of the skatepark’s creation was funded through a donation from Cody Rocamontes, Inc, using a Tony Hawk Foundation grant. It is geared toward beginner and intermediate users but offers fun for anyone interested in skateboards, roller blades, and bikes.
